AUXILIARY FUEL TANKS
Kazan Research and production company “Helicopters-Mi” performs the following modification services on helicopters Mil Mi-8; Mil Mi-8AMT; Mil Mi-8MTV-1:
- installation of AFTs (ВДБ.6130.000);
- installation of ERADS (САП.4011.000).
AFTs (ВДБ.6130.000) allow to increase in-flight time by 5.5-6.1 FHs and range by 1,020-1,070 km.
AFTs do not preclude helicopter operation in any operational climatic conditions at any operational temperature.
Fuel tankage of a helicopter with installed AFTs is 3,337 kg.
Package modification solution includes:
- direct delivery of AFTs and ERADS from vendor;
- installation of AFTs and ERADS in Kazan or at helicopter location (on request);
- AFT paint in aircraft color (on request);
- authorization execution.

SAFETY
AFTs do not bridge emergency hatches and do not obscure passenger escape by breaking blisters (windows), which makes AFTs critical for all passenger versions of helicopters Mil Mi-8; Mil Mi-8AMT; Mil Mi-8MTV-1 (and their modifications).
SIMPLE DESIGN
AFTs (ВДБ.6130.200) are easy in operation and quick in mounting/unmounting (3 h) on the modified helicopter.
POSITION
Fuel tanks will be installed along both sides of fuselage beyond blisters (windows). Installed fuel tanks do not obscure in-flight view through all the blisters (windows), which make them preferable for passenger, VIP, search-and-rescue, EMS, transport, patrol and other operations.
MODIFICATION-IN-OPERATION
Installation of AFTs (ВДБ.6130.000) during helicopter operation takes 5 working days by 5-man team and does not require special maintenance base.
UN PROGRAMS
Extended range is required for applying for worldwide UN Programs (you shall have an aircraft that covers huge distances non-stop).
