President of the Republic of Tatarstan and General Director MC Tulpar Aero Group visited Bombardier and Pratt & Whitney plants in Canada

Dmitry Konovalov, General Director MC Tulpar Aero Group, visited Canada as part of the Tatarstan government delegation headed by President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The trip began on September 26th with a visit to the Pratt & Whitney aircraft factory in Montreal. Pratt & Whitney is a long-time partner of the Group of companies “Tulpar” and one of the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft engines for civil and military aviation.

Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan -Albert Karimov, General Director MC Tulpar Aero Group -Dmitry Konovalov and representatives of other airlines in Tatarstan inspected the Pratt & Whitney production sites, in particular, visited the pre-flight engine testing workshop, familiarized themselves with samples of finished products. During the inspection of the plant, negotiations were held with the company's president, John Saabas.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Republic is satisfied with the current level of business relations with Pratt & Whitney. “I’m sure that together we will be able to continue productive cooperation,” the President added.

In addition, the talks were held with the Minister of Economy, Science, Innovation and Information Technology of the Province of Quebec, Dominique Anglad, as well as with representatives of the Canadian aviation industry in Montreal.

The official visit to Canada continued with a visit to the Bombardier aircraft manufacturing plant, a long-term partner of TULPAR AERO GROUP. TULPAR TECHNIC is the first Bombardier authorized service facility for commercial and business aircraft in Russia and the CIS.

During the visit, there was a meeting with Jean Seguin, President of Bombardier Aviation Construction and Engineering Services Department. He noted that the main task facing the Canadian aircraft manufacturer today is to enter the market for medium-range aircraft, which is still under full control of Boeing and Airbus. Bombardier in turn, is ready to offer its customers mid-range CS100 airliners, which can accommodate from 100 to 125 passengers and CS300 - from 120 to 145. According to company representatives, these models are more economical than their main competitors: aircrafts spend almost 20 % less fuel.

During the meeting, issues on the localization of Bombardier production in Russia were also discussed. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that all conditions were created for this in Tatarstan: the necessary infrastructure, highly qualified specialists and developed logistics.

Tulpar Technic's hangar is adapted to serve the SSJ 100. A section for commercial aircraft can accommodate SSJ 100, Bombardier CRJ and a helicopter. Interest in the new service is very high, said a company representative.
